How God wants us to live

I Thess 5:16-18 Full of joy

Always be full of joy. Never stop praying. Whatever happens, always be thankful. This is how God wants you to live in Christ Jesus.

Lord, help me to live a joyous life, the way You want me to live. Help me to feel thankful for all the good in my life, instead of focusing on what isn’t quite the way I’d prefer it to be. Help me to trust that You always answer prayer. Thank You!

But may all who look for You
discover true joy and happiness in You;
May those who cherish how You save them

Help me to be patient Lord. Help me to wait on Your timing, knowing that it will be perfect, even though I want it NOW! Help me to remember to put You first, not my needs. That way, all my needs will be filled.

Philipians 4:6,7 – Pray about everything

Don’t be anxious about things; instead, pray. Pray about everything. He longs to hear your requests, so talk to God about your needs and be thankful for what has come. And know that the peace of God (a peace that is beyond any and all of our human understanding) will stand watch over your hearts and minds in Jesus, the Anointed One. (The Voice)

Lord, I love that You truly care for us and want to hear what’s troubling us. Like a good and loving parents, You want us to talk to You about our needs and worries, not bottle them up. Just telling You brings peace to our hearts and minds. Thank You for that! 🙂

1 Peter 5:6,7 – We can give our worries to God

Be humble under God’s powerful hand. Then he will lift you up when the right time comes. Give all your worries to him, because he cares for you.

Thank You Lord that You do care. Help me to always remember to take my worries and anxieties to You, instead of feeling I have to do it all on my own. You are waiting to help me, I only need to ask.

Deuteronomy 10:12 – on obedience

What does the Lord your God really want from you?
He wants you to respect him and do what he says. He wants you to love him and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.

Most days, obedience is not my strong point! Especially now, when I’m struggling with how different Your plan for me is to my own plan. Please help me to grow in love for You and faith in You Lord. Help me to want to serve and obey You. Help me to know and trust that Your plan is perfect for me, even if I can’t see that now.

Help me to trust you more and more and to rest in Your gifts of hope, joy, and peace. It’s so easy to get busy and lose sight of what is most important. Thank You for reminding me of this today, that as I hope in You, Your blessing of hope will also flow from me to others. When I know Your hope, by living it, I also share it.

Isaiah 40:28-31 – Find strength through trusting God

Don’t you know? Haven’t you heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God;
he created all the world.
He never grows tired or weary.
His wisdom cannot be measured.
He strengthens those who are weak and tired.

Even those who are young grow weak;
young people can fall exhausted.
But those who trust in the Lord for help
will find their strength renewed.

John 10:11,11 – He cares for us like a Good Shepherd

Jesus said, “I came to give life with joy and abundance, life in all its fullness. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep in His care.”

Please help me to remember Your promise Lord, when life feels a struggle. You care for us, and want to give us full lives, joyously overflowing with Your love. You want that so much, you were even willing to die for us.
